About Reflections


Reflections is a cultural arts program created by the National PTA.  This program provides students the opportunity to express and share their creative talents.


2013-2014: “Believe, Cream, Inspire”

Students may interpret the theme in any way they choose.  Only new pieces of art, inspired by the theme, are acceptable.  Students must create their own work without direct assistance from fellow students, teachers or parents.  Two entries in the same category are also acceptable.  Creativity and enthusiasm are stressed!


Age Divisions: K-2nd Grade; 3rd-5th Grade; 6th Grade

Visual Arts: Painting, Drawing, Collages, Prints, Computerized Art

Literature: Poetry, Prose, Drama, Short Story, Song Lyrics, Fiction or Non-Fiction

Music: Musical Compositions (with or without words) on Instrument of  Choice or a Song Written and/or Sung by Student

Photography: Prints may be Black & White or Color, Single Prints or Collage, Photogram, Montage, Sandwich or Multiple Exposures.

Film/Video Production: Animation, Documentary, Narrative, Experimental or Media Presentations

Dance Choreography: Original choreographed dance composition, by student, on VHS or DVD.  One student’s entry may include up to 3 performers.

** More detailed information will be included in information packet received after turning in Entry Form.

Rewards: All students will receive recognition for participating.  There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd [;ace awards in each category and age group.  Judging will be based on creativity and expression of the theme.
