Project MORE Needs YOU!
Project MORE, Mentoring in Ohio for Reading Excellence, is a volunteer based reading program to help students with reading. The program requires that some of the students are identified as special education and have reading goals on their IEPs. However, any student that needs reading help is eligible for tutoring. The program is based out of Bowling Green State University with scores and data being reported annually. The program is funded by the State Department of Education.
Bowling Green’s historical data shows that Project MORE is very successful. Giving a student 1 to 1 instruction and developing a mentoring relationship provides a meaningful and caring learning relationship that will help any child to read better.
Brookside is in need of tutors to enhance our program. Tutors will need to have 30 minutes of time available to assist students in the 1 to 1 setting. There will be a training session for all volunteers and all reading materials will be provided for you. The program is very structured and all lessons are completely laid out.
If you are interested in tutoring please call Brookside office at 614-450-7059 and leave a message for Miss Boyle or e-mail her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will need several mentors for the 2016-2017 school year!
Your help with this program is critical! Please consider giving back to others in this caring, meaningful way.
