A message from PTA President, Kristen Pavlasek:
The purpose of PTA is to provide a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and to advocate for the education and well-being of every child. We strive for continued parent involvement in helping build a better educational environment for our children.
We are so proud of all the our PTA accomplished last year with the help of our Brookside families, staff and community. We hosted several events including the Fall Hayride & Chili Cook-off, Literacy Night at the Northwest Library, Open Gym Nights, Winter Carnival and the “Brookside Bash”, our last day of school party. We supported school staff with appreciation programs, meals during conferences and budgets to offset classroom expenses. We promoted wellness for our kids through our exercise and nutrition programs, Try It Tuesday, Marathon Milers and Run Club. We supported the wonderful Brookside Musical and provided t-shirts for the Student of the Month programs. The PTA raised $500 in membership, over $2000 through Rewards Programs, $1300 collecting Box Tops and over $8000 with our fundraisers, Winter Carnival, Silent Auction Night and Fun Walk. We were excited to have used this money for our kids by purchasing playground equipment for each classroom, providing scholarships, supporting requested teacher projects and contributing to the Family Mentor Foundation.
We look forward to meeting you and hope you will consider joining the Brookside PTA, or volunteering at one of our many events throughout the year. Just a little time is all it takes to make a big impact on our students, school and community!
